Hier ein kleiner Bericht von Freunden von mir aus Holland


So the Dutch Mob Limited Edition (Paul de K., Fred v/d K. & Gitta v. B.) - after receiving intelligence some time ago - attended the Steiger Awards 2011 ceremony in the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum (Germany) on Saturday evening March 12 in order to pay tribute to Roger, who received the Steiger Award in the category "Music".

Dressed best for the occasion we waited for Roger to arrive. Shortly before the start of the ceremony he appeared and was happy to see some familiar faces, since not all guests seemed to know him. Just like at the "Keith Moon Blue Plaque" lunch, everybody was seated on large round tables. Unfortunately we could not share a table with Roger, who was sitting next to Mark Knopler (also receiving an award in the Music category) and Klaus Meine of The Scorpions (who introduced both for the award).
After the ceremony (that also saw Cherie B./she from Tony, J. Barosso/EU, Klaus Maria Brandauer/actor, Frank Gehry/Guggenheim Bilbao, Egon Bahr/eminent politician receiving awards), Roger joined us at our table, away from all formalities.

Since some Who Scene Investigation by Paul de K. had informed us about the hotel where Roger would stay, and after having booked rooms in the same hotel (as real WSI-ers do), we teamed up with Roger in the hotel bar and chatted until very late. This chat with him was continued after a short night this morning during breakfast. Roger was joined on this trip by two companions, Heather stayed in the UK to be with Rosie who had her second baby daughter last week :-)

After waving Roger goodbye on his way to the airport, the Dutch Mob Ltd. Ed. - your very special Who Scene Investigation team - headed back towards The Netherlands.
